Making a difference for the "Off Track Thoroughbred"
Golden Island Thoroughbred Rescue wants to spread awareness and promote the talented, retired race horse. It is our mission to rescue the "off track thoroughbred," implement our professional care, rehabilitation and training program to create successful, competitive, performance horses in the hunter/jumper discipline. Through this rescue program these special animals will be able to live long, happy lives at our rescue facility or adopt out to contracted, safe, caring forever homes where they will reach their fullest potential.

CARE AND REHABILITATION

We evaluate each thoroughbred and give them top notch care and rehabilitation off the track. Thoroughbred's can come with many uncomfortable problems after their race career. With proper vetting, shoeing and nutrition they will be able to embark on their new journey correct and willingly.

We rescue retired race horses straight from the race track to ensure they are in the right hands.
RE-TRAIN
Let them fly
Once our thoroughbreds are at maximum health we are able to start the re-training process. Once the horses are started in the program we will be able to evaluate what they are capable of training for.
START A NEW LIFE
Finding their forever home
Our thoroughbreds will be happy, healthy, and given the opportunity show their capabilities through professional training and showing. Once these steps are established our rescue will be able to find them the right matches to contracted, forever homes to ensure safe and successful lives for these amazing animals.
